Margaret de Valois is an independent pensions expert and Actuary. With over 20 years experience advising companies on all types of pension scheme matters, she is a highly regarded specialist in the financial services industry and regularly appears in the media discussing pensions policy and its impact on businesses as well as the general public.
Her passion is good governance within pension schemes as well as helping the public understand pensions. She currently chairs the Independent Pensions Committee at IMERYS and also chairs Cornwall Council’s Independent Remuneration Panel. Margaret firmly believes that the key to solving the UK’s pension “crisis” is in good education, and is committed to helping scheme members and employees understand why they should save for retirement, when they should start and how they can set up a pension.
Following her appearance in BBC4’s “Tails you Win” in 2012, Margaret was selected for the BBC womens’ expert training academy and has since made a number of TV apprearances including for BBC2’s Daily Politics Show and Sky News. Margaret is also an experienced public speaker and is keen to share her knowledge and experience at future live events.
